At Deity Events, we hear all the time from couples, “we just want a wedding to celebrate with family and friends,” and are worried about all the little expenses, like wedding invitations, that add up during wedding planning and can create complication to their Brooklyn Wedding. We found a solution to deliver custom invitations that leave your guests with a beautiful and unique first impression, without a hefty price tag. Later in the post is a handy how to guide on creating your invitations.
Here’s the gist- Basic Invites
is an online invitation creating, organizing, and printing site all in one. They are one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online to make sure the card is exactly how you want it – down to the littlest detail. This is what sets them a part from almost any other online stationery company, because most of the time you have to work from within the themes’ framework. Each of the wedding invitations
is part of a set that have enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs and even matching thank you cards, so there are less things you have to worry about!
We were skeptical about online invitations, so we asked some logistical questions, but were glad to hear they thought of everything!
Do you offer any help when it comes to the design process?
Basic Invite is an online stationery design company so all of our designs are customized by the customer. With that said, customers have the option to get their designs proofed as well as full designer assistance for an extra fee. We have a live chat feature on our website as well incase customers run into any issues.
Do you offer to send a sample before couples make a large batch order?
Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place their final order.
Use our free address collection service to request your addresses with just three simple steps. Share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing.
What is the timeline in which you can expect to receive invitations ordered online?
Our standard shipping takes about 5-10 business days with an additional 2 days for processing some of our products such as foil and wood. We also have quicker shipping methods if things need to be expedited.
Recently we heard a great quote from a Bride while touring our venue. She said “you are expected to become an expert in Wedding Planning, but you are only going to do it once.” We thought that was so true! In spirit of that, we wanted to give you some more nitty gritty information about creating your invitations. Here is how the typical process goes, from Here Comes the Guide.
1. The Invitation
2. If your ceremony and reception are in two different locations, then you will want to include a reception card.
3. A response card to have your guests indicate whether they will be attending the wedding.
4. A direction card, it tells your guests where the venue is and where to park.
5. Then an outer envelope
I know I would sincerely have decision fatigue after this if I had to source these individual elements myself!
Decide on the text– would you like to word this traditional or with a spin?
In the reception card- you must include, the place of the reception and where the reception takes place. You can chose to spice up the language here as well to show your personality.
“Our Celebration Continues or (Reception)
immediately following the ceremony with (cocktails, comfort food, and dancing with the DJ)
368 Atlantic Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11217″
Reply Card– indicates who will be attending instead of the number of guests. You may also drop the formal “M” at the beginning.
|The favour of a reply is requested before the twenty-sixth of August
|M will attend
|M will be unable to attend
Direction Card- Your direction card becomes an extra information card that is handy for your guests to know. Here Comes the Guide explains quite a few things that you might want to include information about.
- Valet Parking
- Group Transportation Arrangements
- Any Child Car Arrangements
- Appropriate Attire
- Wedding Website
- Weather Information
- Things to do
The Outer Envelope– a.k.a the thing you stuff all this into! There are two option one envelope or an two. Two is not necessary, but an outer envelope with a luxurious lining is more traditional. The return address, but not the names appear on the back of the envelope.
Now you are ready to stamp and send!
