Wedding Makeup Artist in Brooklyn

Deity Events is excited to put a vendor spotlight on an amazing makeup artist! This makeup goddess has an eight-year career in doing bridal makeup professionally has also done eight seasons of NYC Fashion Week. Deity Events has not recommended a particular makeup artist yet, so we are proud to recommend this incredible talent!

My story is similar to many other artists out there. I began doing my friends’ makeup back in junior high and high school. My closest friends saw how much I enjoyed it and I guess they thought I was good enough (haha) that they gave me a push in the right direction into pursuing it as a career option. Fast forward to now and I’ve been doing makeup professionally for at least 8 years!

Over the years in addition to beautifying my bridal clients I have also worked over 8 seasons of fashion week, including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Bridal Fashion Week and The Victoria’s Secret Show just to name a few. Most recently I’ve had a couple amazing bridal photo shoots with a really amazing team featuring Galia Lahav House of Couture shot on and around the Brooklyn Bridge and Pnina Tornai shot in Central Park.

My favorite look is a very clean and polished makeup look. My philosophy is to enhance my client’s look without masking it. I love showing my clients that they don’t need countless layers of thick makeup to achieve a flawless and cohesive look.

As a well rounded artist you shouldn’t just rely on one single brand. I carry several different brands (both luxury and professional grade) and many types of items in my kit to suit a multitude of skin types and complexions. Some of my favorite brands are Makeup Forever, NARS Cosmetics, Giorgio Armani, Kevyn Aucoin, Kett Cosmetics, Viseart, and TEMPTU Airbrush makeup.

My biggest tips for clients is that you should adopt a skincare routine suitable for your skin type. By taking the extra steps to prep your skin with focus on skin care, you will perfect your canvas and the makeup will look even better on your skin and aid in its longevity.

Some of my favorite skin care prep items are great multi taskers are; Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè, which is a moisturizer that also acts as a primer (or Hydra-Mat for my oilier clients) and Skin Up which effectively delivers Hyaluronic Acid to help restore suppleness and hydration while Lipoic Acid and CoEnzyme Q10 will reveal a radiant, hydrated and glowing complexion.

You should book your bridal hair and makeup artist up to 12 months in advance. If you wait too long that artist that you are interested in may be booked. Trials should be scheduled within 4-6 months of your wedding. Consider using your trial for when you either have your engagement pictures, your bridal shower or a special event to attend.

In New York City you can expect a qualified bridal makeup artist to charge an average of $200-$300 for the bride. Keep in mind that rates will defer from artist to artist based on level of experience and skill, their resume and availability/demand. It’s important to chose an artist whose style you like, that you “click with”, and whom *listens* to you and understands your bridal day beauty needs. Booking your bridal makeup and hair artist should be just as important as booking your photographer, because we will make you picture perfect when all eyes are on you!
